PANCHKARMA
This is a unique procedure in Ayurveda for the treatment of chronic and incurable diseases. It consists of five specialized procedures to eliminate the endotoxins from the body.
The five fold purification therapies consist of
(i) Vaman (Emesis)
(ii) Virechan (Purgation)
(iii) Vasti (Medicated Enema)
(iv) Nasya (Nasal insufflation)
(v) Rakthamokshan (Blood Letting)
These measures are preceded by oleation therapy (Snehan) and fomentation therapy (Svedan) and are followed by a special dietetic regimen. This process is especially useful in chronic diseases like hemiplegia, sciatica, joint pain, gout, osteoarthritis, lumbar & cervical spondilitis, insomnia, headache, skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema, bronchial asthma etc.
Abhyangam (Full body massage)
Here trained masseurs apply medicated oils all over the body in a specific manner. This is basic and most important karma regularizes the circulation of the body, improves tonicity and texture of skin removing dead and degenerated skin cells.
It is useful in Joint pains, Arthritis, Obesity, Cervical spondylosis, Eczema, Psoriasis, Paralysis, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, Stiffness of the body. Backache, Muscular Dystrophy, Rickets, Atherosclerosis and many more.
Pizichill
This a special type of Abhyanga procedure where the massage is performed with medicated oil by pouring the oils continuously on the whole body with the help of cloth pieces dipped in the oil. This method is used in the treatment of many generalized neuromuscular diseases, hemiplegia and paraplegia.
Shirodhara
In this procedure medicated oils or decoction are poured slowly from a distance over the forehead with specially designed Shiro-Dhara Yantra.
It increases concentration and improves memory, helpful for both intellectual and students alike. It calms and nourishes brain cells. It is useful in Insomnia (Sleeplessness) hallucinations, Sinusitis, migraine, falling /graying of hair, alopecia, dandruff, trigeminal Neuralgia.
Kativasti/Januvasti/Grivavasti/Urovasti
A unique and special treatment of Panchkarma for backache, sciatica, lumbar and cervical spondylosis, slipped disc and osteoarthritis.
Akshitarpan
Eyes are made to blink in medicated decoctions or cow milk ghee for a fixed time period by making a dam around the eyes.
It improves eye sight, strengthening of eye muscles and various eye diseases.
Swedan (Fomentation)
Nadi sweda
This type of fomentation is usually done for localized conditions like Osteoarthritis, sprain, or to relieve some localized pain as in Cervical spondylitis. Here fomentation is done with the vapours generated out of medicated decoction.
Sarvanga Vashpa sweda
After proper application of oil and a good whole body massage of any of the above types, the individual is asked to enter in a specially devised chamber with vapours of decoction
Avagaha Sweda
The patient is made to sit in a specially designed bathtub with medicated decoctions. It is useful in generalized diseases like arthritis and generalized weakness, fatigue, muscular problems, myopathies
Vaman (Emesis)
After proper external and internal oleation of the body and fomentation specially prepared decoction are given to the patient to drink and emesis is induced. It is highly beneficial to treat diseases of the Respiratory system like Asthma, Bronchitis, sinusitis, Allergic rhinitis and other diseases like Hyperacidity and various skin diseases like Psoriasis, Eczemas and Pemphigus.
Virechan (Purgation)
It is indicated in various diseases of the abdomen and a number of skin diseases.Basti
Medicines in the form of decoction (Niruha Basti) or oils/ghee (Anuvasan) are administered through the anal route. It is very effective therapy in treating Arthritis, Backache, Sciatica, osteoporosis and diseases of bowels like Irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis and a number of other diseases.
Nasya (Nasal Insufflation)
It is primarily used in treating diseases like sinusitis, rhinitis, hair fall, Epilepsy, facial paralysis, paralysis and various other psychological and neurological disorders. Nasya is also known for improving the intellect of an individual.
Raktamokshan
These refers to Blood letting by various methods like shira veda, Jaloka- avacharan (Leech application) etc. The process is basically meant for purification of the blood and to treat blood related disorders, skin diseases, High blood pressure and other diseases. It is used in treating diseases like Eczema, Vitiligo, non-healing ulcers, varicose veins, pigment disorders etc.
Ahara Vidhi
Diet regime according to Ayurveda for each diseases.
Herbal Face Care
Special massage done with herbs/medicated oils and face packs remove dead skin that improves texture and tonicity of skin making it smooth and glowing. By cleansing and nourishing the skin tissues, it thwarts the ageing process, wrinkles and improves the complexion of skin, dark circles and skin blemishes treatment.
